WIC Announces FY22 Training Grant Awards

IT/Healthcare Sector Training Grant

The Workforce Investment Council is pleased to announce that we have released funding for IT and Healthcare Training for District residents, geared towards preparing them for well-paying jobs, that will put them on Pathways to the Middle Class.

The WIC is working to address the critical shortage of Information Technology and Healthcare talent for employers by building a strong, diverse talent pipeline.

As we continue into Year 3 of the COVID-19 global pandemic and think about the on-going and post COVID needs of residents and employers, the WIC is even more committed to funding Information Technology and  Healthcare training opportunities as part of our overarching investments, focusing on the top 5 non-degreed healthcare occupations. Anecdotally, we have seen the need for additional entry level healthcare staff to enter the profession in addition to the goal of upskilling current workers. Due to the number of staff who have left the healthcare profession as the pandemic has affected the healthcare infrastructure in various states and jurisdiction. The WIC has released the following grants in support of our focus and investments in IT/Healthcare. We encourage all qualified entities to review the RFA and apply if the opportunity is a good fit.
