DC Works

WIOA Implementation

DC is taking a phased approach to WIOA implementation over four years, prioritizing key decisions and activities described in the District’s Unified State Plan and incorporating new federal guidance as it becomes available. During Phase I, starting with the drafting of the Unified State Plan in Fall 2015 through the January 23 Quarterly Board Meeting, the WIC accomplished a number of activities including receiving federal WIOA State Plan approval, developing a WIOA-compliant policy manual, and finalizing a One-Stop Operator (OSO) Procurement Plan.  A full list of accomplishments as well as the OSO procurement timeline can be found below.  As we begin Phase II of implementation, WIOA Working Groups will continue to meet to ensure the WIC Board and District leadership receive feedback from a variety of perspectives, including agency staff, community members, and business representatives.  Working group progress summaries to date can be found here.
