The Workforce Investment Council is continuing efforts to implement a career pathways system in the District, ensuring all residents have access to the education, training, and career services necessary to gain economic independence. We are excited to announce the launch of our first training course: Foundations for the Future. This introductory course is a curriculum designed to help system staff understand the transformational vision, why the District is focusing on workforce system transformation, and what their critical roles will be in support of the transformation.
What Is the WIC?
The District’s Workforce Investment Council (WIC) is a private-sector led board responsible for advising the Mayor, Council, and District government on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated and effective workforce investment system. Members of the WIC include representatives from the private sector, local business representatives, government officials, organized labor, youth community groups, and organizations with workforce investment experience.
